Chairman and Managing Director Peter Mathews CMG who founded the company in 1986 is also a past president of the British Metals federation and is the Vice President of the Non Ferrous board of the B.I.R based in Brussels.  He has been involved in UK and international trading of ferrous and non-ferrous metals since the early 1970's.  He has a hands on knowledge of shipping, containerisation and transportation of materials as well as experience advising on military and civilian dismantlery on an international basis.

Don joined Black Country Metals Limited in February 2002 after 46 years service in the Drop Forging Industry, the last 25 years as quality Director.   Don has extensive knowledge of Quality System ISO9001:2000 and also Environmental Management System ISO 14001.

Black Country Metals is approved to ISO9002:1994 which Don is progressing to ISO9001:2000 and also in the process of attaining ISO 14001. 

Wen Jie joined the company on the 6th of February after he finished his Finance, Accounting & Management degree at the University of Nottingham. 

He will be developing our East Asian business and our Chinese joint venture.

Darren joined BCM in May 2004.  He’s a qualified certified accountant.  He has been associated with BCM for a number of years now and has a wide & varied knowledge of numerous industries.

Elizabeth Tolley joined the company in August 2006 to be our Receptionist/Administrator.  She comes from a local company and has many years experience in a customer service environment.  Elizabeth will be maintaining our high level of customer service and the day to day running of the office.

Anna Mathews recently joined Black Country Metals after gaining her BA in English with American Studies at the University of Worcester.  She is well travelled and fits nicely into the plans for the future of Black Country Metals, where she has taken up the position of Commercial Representative for the company.

Pauline Trigg joined the company in March 2008 as PA to Peter Mathews CMG. She has many years experience in a PA role and thoroughly enjoys organising Mr Mathews’ hectic work schedule. In her spare time, Pauline sings with a local band!
